How to Sleep with a Movie Star is the debut novel to come out from author Kristin Harmel. She also writes one book per year for Gallery Books and Simon & Schuster. She goes to the country to research her books and also doesn’t mind enjoying the wine and the pastries while she is there. When not busy writing, Kristin often flies to France. She also co-founded the weekly podcast and web show “Friends & Fiction”, which she co-hosts. She also has technically worked in the movies, appearing as an extra in 2003 for the American Idol movie– all while waiting to interview Kelly Clarkson. Kristin has also been on Good Morning America and other local morning television shows. One of these assignments was traveling to London not once but three times for the purpose on interviewing the Harry Potter film cast. It partly inspired her novel The Sweetness of Forgetting. One was on Henri Landwirth, a Holocaust survivor that had become a philanthropist. She most enjoyed writing the feature “Heroes Among Us”, which covered the stories of regular people that did extraordinary things. There she covered a variety of topics, from murders to football to celebrity interviews (she has interviewed Patrick Dempsey, Justin Timberlake, Ben Affleck, Matthew McConaughey, and others). She would work for the publication for over a decade. Kristin then worked as a writer for PEOPLE magazine.
